Philippians Chapter 1 Verse 18

What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

Paul does not care if people are preaching Christianity through false motive or not, he likes them both and rejoices.

"Practising Deceit"

Not only was practising deceit acceptable when doing so about Christ, it was a common tactic used by Paul to "win" over and "convert" many.

1 Corinthians 9:20

"To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law."

Moreover, deceit is commonly used among missionaries today.

I guess the 9th commandment should be: 'Thou shall not lie, except in Christ's name'.
